Don’t you just love the freedom that comes with cruising down the road in your own car? However, every once in a while, you may encounter a problem that puts the brake on your journey. One such problem is that your car may stop in the middle of the road because of the battery. If the battery gets discharged, you have no other option but to either recharge it or replace it with a charged battery. But if the lights and electrical systems are working well, your battery needs a “jumpstart” to make your car run again.

We at Dial a Battery provide you with 24×7 guaranteed battery solutions on the spot anywhere in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. So here, we will let you know what a jumpstart is and how it works.

To give your dead battery a jumpstart, you need a charged battery via which you can connect your dead battery using jumper cables. The batteries have two terminals: one is positive (+) and the other is negative (-) and the same is with the jumper cables set in which the red cable is positive while the black cable is negative.

A question that often arises here is which cable from the jumper cables set should be hooked up first, the red or the black one? The answer is the Red one. Connect the clamps of the Red cable to the positive terminals of the dead battery and the charged cable, respectively. Then connect a clamp of the black cable to the negative terminal of the charged battery and the other clamp to the metal body of the dead battery’s car.

Now, start the car with the charged battery and after a few minutes, try starting your car with the dead battery. Your car should ideally be ready to move.
