2020 has changed life for all of us. While a lot of us have been able to stay unaffected by the havocs it has wreaked, for those who have suffered with the diseases or loss of a loved one, it has been a trying journey; painful and transforming at the same time.
While we might not be able to reach out to all who have been affected by one of the worst global pandemics in the history of humankind, we have been able to walk along with Obaid Amad through his journey. His story is nothing less than inspiration and we would like to share it with others who seek healing in these tough times.

Obaid’s story

Obaid was living a normal life until June 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic changed it forever. Obaid and his sisters lost both their parents to COVID-19 early in June. This loss was more than Obaid could bear, and he found himself getting sucked into a vortex. His internal battle against this depression was becoming more gruesome every day.

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it – Helen Keller.”

His Journey

He was recommended to pick a sport to help channelize all the negative energy he had pent up within him. Obaid enrolled himself in kick-boxing, and it proved to be life-transforming. Within a week, he and his sisters could see the positive changes within him. It helped him usher consistency and discipline into his life. Within no time and by channeling his energy positively, he had gained the proficiency which got him selected to compete in the RINGSIDE RAMPAGE event backed by PBA (Professional Boxing Association).

“This depression could have eaten me up, but I chose to be positive and recharge my life to honour my lost parents. I know seeing me positive and happy, my parents will be happy too.” – Obaid Amad

Dial-A-Battery was founded on the very values of easing the struggles of people, rescuing them when they are stuck because of a dead battery. And in these tough times, we have strived to stand by those who find themselves stuck in life and are trying to fight back.
We have been privileged to have sponsored Obaid Amad at the Ringside Rampage event on November 20th, 2020.

“From their experience came pain, and from their pain came purpose, and from their purpose came beauty – J. Arcangel.”

His charge to success

With dedication and persistence, Obaid trained hard with the Rampage Gym. In the ring, his performance was courage and confidence personified. Even as he entered the ring, his poise was unmistakable, and as we expected, he came out victorious. His win has turned his life around for good. With his new-found spirit, Obaid is all set to share his experience to inspire others and to encourage them to fight back and reclaim life from depression.
